I'm not that good at creating setlists myself, so these are the setlists other people supplied. I think these lists are OK, but I can't guarantee that. If you are positive that one of the setlists featured here is incorrect, don't hesitate to correct me by sending me an Email.

About 40 minutes into the show a 3 or 4 year old girl gets put onto stage with a drawing she made for John, really nice drawing, good response from the audience. Cool. |

As a comment with this tape Barry wrote: I taped (archived), stealthily (Sonics > D7), last Halloween; a reunion show of the Sir Doug Quintet & John 'X' Reed! A super HOT show! Lots of fun and a good tape w/a couple of stories: When 1:20 or so showed up on my two hr. tape i cursed myself for not having a 90M. So I somehow 'paused/spaced' out 'Mendicino' somehow. Teenybopper indeed! Ran to the car during set break and grabbed another tape. The opportunity presented itself as I re-entered La Zona Rosa here in Austin, and caught Alvin Crow, fiddle & guitar, comin outta of the bathroom, and reaching in my pocket for a bill and sez, "Alvin, somehow I missed that Mendicino and I sure would like to hear it again" and crossed my fingers and lapped it in his hand (when I noticed it was a $20), then traded 'shit-eatin stonedgrins' Later in the second set, one of the girls at a table next to me, caught me stealin' a smoke (curse Sir Walter Raleigh, he was such a such a stupid bit?) so's I offer her a copy of the tape I'm making... A few minutes later she introduces herself as Dawn Sahm!! It's all on the tape (those damn sonics don't miss very much). She asks me if i "like" the music? and something about permission I think, but the musics damn loud and i think i mentioned Alvin Crow's name and she backed off. they played several Roky Erickson tunes, opened w/"Don't Shake Me, Lucifer" and when they've played a couple of encores already including Roky's "You're Gonna Miss Me", Doug sez, "Well we usually don't like to do two songs the same night"{sic} ??? "But we got a 20 buck tip here here man, and where me and Auggie come from, on the east side of San Antonio, we say 'This TALKS and bullshit walks', so I guess you're gonna get your song, brother" %^) "Thank Ya Doug" It was a crazy moment! |
